ABOUT JOHNNY THOMAS
Johnny Thomas began his audio career in a studio apartment while serving on active duty in the U.S. Army stationed in El Paso Texas back in 2005. He bought and installed FL Studio, formally known as “Fruity Loops” on his Dell Computer, also armed with his zoom beat machine, and Yamaha keyboard, he began to learn to construct and compose music. Soldiering came natural for this young elite professional who trained soldiers in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical warfare. He ran his unit's NBC program from the rank of private E-2 to becoming a Non-Commissioned Officer. After his deployments, serving in Operation’s “Southern Watch”, “Enduring Freedom”, and “Iraqi Freedom”. Johnny returned from overseas to start his first business venture “TryllGryllz Goldteeth and Fronts” which gained him and his partner Monte a taste of local fame in the El Paso Texas, Juarez Mexico, and New Mexico region.
Tryllz Gryllz allowed the two brothers to experience what it was like behind the music scene, and at the same time provided the bumps and bruises from the school of hard knocks of running a day to day business. While Tryll Gryllz was backed by David Baldwin owner of "Goldteeth.com" and Jacob's Jewelry, and was a jewelry business it brought music into play. With Monte doing business with the top DJ's in the country during the rise of the Mixtape, Mix CD, and Mix DVD era, such as Dj’s Whoo Kid, Kool kid, Clue, Jelly and the list goes on, Tryll Gryllz provided the best rap music in the streets to go along with their custom gryllz and jewelry, influencing hip hop culture throughout the region.
They soon hooked up with Christ Hate Entertainment a prominent businessman and promoter who allowed the duo to expand by sponsoring mega entertainment events, after parties, and club promotions that came with radio and TV advertising. Chris's group the "Black Crooks" were among the stars who shined in Sun City. It would be Johnny's already love for music, his partner Monte, Chris Hate, Johnny Bishop and Big E AKA the “Black Crooks” as well as a long list of entertainers that he would have a chance to meet and party with who would ultimately inspire him to learn not only his craft but the business as well, which allowed him to decide that it was time to hang up the uniform for his life-long dream of working in music and entertainment.
Next Johnny was excepted into the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences located in Gilbert and Tempe Arizona, where he gained his foundation in Audio Engineering, after which a whole new world of possibilities opened. The Instructors at CRAS are real world working Audio Engineers, and some of the best. Learning from Multi-Platinum, Grammy Nominated and Award Winning Engineers and Producers first hand has allowed him to thrive and excel everywhere else he has traveled. Johnny teamed up with Kruush, YoungBird and Reise to form Partnaz N Cryme and they began recording their self-titled unreleased Album. Before releasing the album, the group split up leaving only Johnny and Kruush who later parted ways but have kept close ties. Most of his peers from CRAS are now working professionals who expand his network globally.
Johnny moved to Atlanta and attended the Atlanta Institute of Music where he refreshed and touched up on Audio Engineering, and got more in depth with the production and the musicianship side of things. He was now able to get his Avid Pro Tools HD certification accomplished. “AIM opened me up more to Post-Production and Digital Media all together" say's the now more experienced Engineer. AIM is also where Johnny met some of his best engineer and producer partners like Marc of “Beatmonstas” who’s enjoyed several successful placements, and Kevin Mitchell who now Engineer's for Swag Team at Young Joc's recording studio.
One of the AIM Instructors that he thinks the most highly of is Malcolm Tariq who is graduate of Full Sail and also hooked him up with Echo Studios better known as T.I.'s Grand Hustle Studios. "Malcolm took the best of our class and put us to work, allowing us to work with himself and other big names like Producer Teddy Bishop. After that he pretty much kept us in the loop. He credits Malcolm for helping him to get his first foot into the industry. After interning, working the front desk, running his own sessions, and shutting down studio operations, being the last one to leave most of the time, Johnny learned how a real studio with real label Artists conducts everyday business from day to day. He was also injected into a pool of stars and local celebrities from all over Atlanta as well as other places, Artists like T.I., Travis Porter, Wale, LA, Five Mics, Chuckee, Mars, Young Dro, Baby Boy, Grand Hustle in house Engineers and Producers, and the list goes on. He Engineered sessions with Grand Hustle Artists and affiliates such as Jose Guapo and Big Country King to name a few.
In 2010 Johnny enrolled at The Art Institute of Atlanta to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Audio and Media Productions. The Art Institute also offered new challenges for Johnny, and has some of the best real working Instructors in the country. Two of his favorite, successful, and well respected Art Institute Instructors are Booker Edwards and Saurabh Bose, He credits them as being the ones who pushed him to excel, not just in school but beyond as well. He tailored his studies more towards video, post, electronic music, and even digital media based courses to start and grow his new business venture and also to prepare for the future of media and it's new modern methods of creation and digital distribution, thus Johnny Thomas Audio was formed.

Next Johnny was accepted to Full Sail University where he completed his Master's of Science in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. His goal was to learn how to launch and run a Startup, but also how to continue to thrive in highly competitive, evolving, and innovative markets. Since his Startup is a music business company, he knew that he would need to learn more about the actual entertainment business so he return to Full Sail for a Masters in Entertainment Business. Full Sail is among the elite schools providing the best music industry education in the world, he plans to use all of his interests, knowledge and skills to propel the music and entertainment industries forward using cutting edge technology and innovation.
